Hi! I just finished reading this book last night and thought I’d share my thoughts with you.
So first of all, this is the book: The Lucky Ones.
I knew just from reading the description that I would really enjoy this book. Ever since I was a little girl obsessed with reading, I have loved detectives and thrillers. I also prefer books (and movies) that surprise me, where I don’t know the ending within the first 10 minutes. Last year I read I Am Pilgrim and it rekindled my love towards reading. Ever since then, I’ve been looking to find something similar (Still waiting for Terry Hayes to release his next book. Please, hurry up, Terry!!).
The Lucky Ones turned out to be way better than I expected. It truly is a book where you won’t know what is going on until the last few pages. Every time I was sure I had the answer, turned out it was a wrong one. It had me reading the last chapters at an inhuman speed just to find out what happens next. I honestly stayed up till 4AM just to finish the book, because there was no way I was putting it down before finding out the truth.
I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into the plot. You can read the description yourself, it sums it up perfectly. But my favorite parts of the book were the ones from the killers perspective. Every time I was done with one, I was already looking forward to the next one. For me, it just added that little something extra to the whole story.
This book will be on my mind for a while, but I better start looking for the next one. What is your favorite book and why?
Thank you for reading!
