10 Things I Like

Hi!

Since this blog is new, I thought I would tell you a little about myself and list 10 things I like.

  • Making lists and planning things

See what I’ve done here? Haha. But seriously. I am the kind of person who makes a list of things that I need to make a list of. And then make the lists. Lists! Hand in hand with making lists comes planning. I don’t even care if what I plan actually pans out. I often enjoy the thrill of planning, researching, thinking and making lists way more than actually doing the things I’ve planned.

  • Cats

Oh, cats! Who doesn’t love and adore cats? Especially kittens?! They are truly the cutest creatures ever! For most of my life my backup plan in life has been becoming a cat lady. Still is, to be honest.

This one is my not-so-little-anymore cat baby Barney. I just thought of adding a picture of him here and found so many cute ones I almost created a gallery of photos. But I’m practicing self-control, so I’m going with this one. Sums him up perfectly.

  • Smiles

Smiling is one of the easiest and most beautiful things a human can do, why wouldn’t it be one of the top things I like? So I have made it one of my goals this year to smile more. Feel free to join me.

Negativity comes easy, life’s full of it. That’s why we need to make and effort to choose positivity. Choose to smile more! And then keep smiling. Unless you’re in a funeral, then you should probably stop for a while.

  • Making people laugh

I love making people laugh. It’s one of the best feelings in the world, knowing that something I’ve done or said has made another human being happy, even if only for a second. Another one of my goals for the year right here. Make more people laugh.

  • Freedom and being alone

I’ve always needed my freedom. I get extremely frustrated if I feel that I can’t make my own decisions. I don’t mean this in a “I want to do whatever I want, eff everyone else” way. I just need to feel like I have a voice and my opinions are also being heard and respected. Even if I’ll never use it, I need to know I have an option to say no. Or yes. Depending on the situation.

In the same way I need my alone time. Every once in a while I need to be alone with my thoughts, away from people, social media and all the noise that comes with both. Whether it’s going for a walk by myself or reading a book in my room, sitting on a balcony enjoying the view and fresh air or dancing around home with music blasting from the speakers. I need that time to collect my thoughts and check in with myself.

  • Summer

If you ask me, summer is the best season. Finally I can put away my big jacket and walk around in summer tops. The sun is shining. People are happier. PLUS, the days are so much longer!! I don’t see a downside to summer.

  • Snow

Okay, maybe the only downside to summer is that it doesn’t have snow. Snow is beautiful.

But only temporarily. It’s winter wonderland while I can sit inside and look at it through the window. I’ll even enjoy making a snowman or having a snowball fight. I can even take the cold. But when that snow starts melting.. I’m out of there.

  • Singing

Oh, I absolutely love singing!! But, like a true Latvian, I’m horrible at it. I can’t sing. At all. When I sing, it sounds like a bunch of cats being strangled in an alley. But I still love it. *evil laugh*

  • Board games

I’m obsessed with board games! I am the one person that will always want to play the same game over and over again. Or at least a different one? You can offer to play a board game with me and 9.9 times out of 10, I’ll say yes. That 0.1 time I was probably horribly ill and couldn’t move.

  • Writing

I feel that this is self explanatory. Just look at this blog!
